Ontario Conservatives promise to join TILMA if elected

Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader John Tory today unveiled his election platform.

The 52-page policy document, entitled For a Better Ontario: Leadership Matters was released at the party's convention in Toronto.

Among the estimated 100 promises is to join the controversial BC-Alberta Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA).

Page 37 states:
“We will seek to join the inter-provincial free trade agreement between British Columbia and Alberta, and explore a similar arrangement with Quebec. Ontario must lead the national charge for the reduction of inter-provincial trade barriers across Canada.”
Tory said that if his party wins October’s election, he'll keep every one of his promises.

“Like every other plan I've had the responsibility for implementing, every other place I've been, this will be implemented. I wouldn't put forward a plan I didn't think I could achieve,” Tory said.
