Letter from Saskatchewan Command - The Royal Canadian Legion - January 9, 2006

January 9, 2006

Dear Mr. Kuchta:

Thank you for your email dated January 3rd 2006 concerning the sale of the Saskatoon Branch #063.

Saskatchewan Command have investigated the procedure that the Branch followed to advise their members of the upcoming special meeting to discuss the sale of said property and they have complied with the General By-laws.

This Branch building may be of some historic value, however it cost money to keep property going these days and with the high cost of electricity and heat it has been impossible for this Branch to keep this building going in today’s market.

The purpose of a Royal Canadian Legion is not in a building but rather in the commitment of the Legion members to uphold the purposes and objects of the organization, which is to promote Remembrance and to look out for the welfare of our veterans.

With the sale of this building and the Branch relocating to a more suitable and affordable space, they should then be able to focus their time for the real purposes of a Royal Canadian Legion.

Fraternally Yours,

Brent G. Burns
Executive Director
